"GLO'ART was born when my husband Willy Gilissen retired. He's not the kind of person who sits still and does nothing. We both shared the same hobby, recreational painting. That's how he conceived the idea of transforming the warehouse behind our home into a studio. It would be a nice place to meet with our friends and paint, or so we thought at the time.
We both love to travel and being the man he is, we always combined business with pleasure. We visited many places that inspired him because of what he saw and experienced. We went to art galleries all over the world. We were introduced to fascinating artists who create magnificent works of art. These experiences convinced my husband to make our new painting studio available for young artists. He found people, the wonderful staff we have now, to assist him in this project and it quietly and steadily grew into what we have today. A global art center.
I particularly savor the thought that GLO'ART invites young people whom we give the opportunity to achieve something with their talent."

"GLO'ART is ontstaan omdat mijn man Willy Gilissen na zijn pensioen iets om handen wilde hebben. Hij is er namelijk de persoon niet naar om stil te zitten. Wij waren allebei aan het schilderen, het was een gezamenlijke hobby. Daardoor is hij op de gedachte gekomen om de loods achter ons huis om te bouwen tot een atelier waar we samen met vrienden zouden kunnen schilderen.
Tijdens de reizen die we samen maakten, raakte Willy geïnspireerd door wat hij zag en beleefde. We bezochten vele kunstgaleries, en reisden bijvoorbeeld in China, langs de prachtige Yangtze rivier waar we een indrukwekkend beeldenpark bezochten. Ook in Uruguay zagen we veel moois en ontmoetten we boeiende kunstenaars die prachtige werken maakten. Zo kwam Willy tot de overtuiging om ons nieuwe atelier beschikbaar te stellen voor nog onbekende kunstenaars uit alle landen. Hij zocht mensen die hem hierbij konden helpen, en zo is het stilletjes gegroeid tot wat het vandaag de dag is.
Ik vind het een mooie gedachte dat GLO'ART jonge mensen uitnodigt en goed voor ze zorgt. Dat ze een kans krijgen met hun talent iets te bereiken."
